Does it ever annoy you when people want to get in shape and not do any work?
I work hard to stay in shape and when people whine that they can “never get in shape” or tell me that it’s “not fair that I’m thin” it’s annoying. They whine but then they never want to do anything. I’ve even offered to bring the to the gym with me (working around THEIR schedule with my free, unlimited guest passes) but they always cancel. They make fun of me for getting salads when they eat big macs. Even people on here are like that. They want six pack abs in 6 days or to lose 20 pounds in two weeks.
Does anyone else get annoyed with this? And how should I deal with my friends that are like this?
Cait: You’re misunderstanding. THEY are not happy with the way they look. They complain about it all the time, yet they don’t want to work at it to look better.
Yes, I am a certified personal trainer, and I see this daily. They all want to know my secrets because they just CANT lose weight. They all have thyroid issues, or lupus, or firbomialgia, or an excuse of some other sort. What they really have is lazy.
Move more, eat less, lift weights for muscle. Simple.
How I handle it, like i think all things should be handled, with information. People dont understand teh fundamentals of how their bodies work. Explain what a calorie is, what burns them, and how they can go about creating a deficit. Second is taking them into gym, if they show, and showing them exactly what it takes to look like I do.
In the end, change only works if the person making the change WANTS to do it. Ultimatly, few people have what it takes, as most are feeble minded cattle.
